Signal Reception
HIS Radio serves the Triangle, Fayetteville, and Eastern NC with an integrated network of 14 different FM frequencies.
We have exciting news that many of these frequencies serving towns and local communities will be enhanced and enlarged to serve you better! That procedure is now underway. However, this is a slow process that involves many administrative, legal, and engineering elements that must occur in steps. Sometimes those steps will mean occasional but temporary disruption in service to a particular area while the project advances.
On this webpage we will keep you updated on the changes as they occur so you can remain informed. The end result will be a great improvement for our covered areas and something to praise God for. Thank you for your patience during this time!
AREAS CURRENTLY AFFECTED:
--CARY/APEX: Our 107.7 FM signal serving the Apex and Cary areas has been expanded and is now more effectively serving sections of town which may previously have suffered poor reception. If you know someone in these areas, pass the good news to them! And please contact us via EMAIL to let us know how it works for you. You can also call our office at 1-888-326-9787 with a report.
--CLAYTON/SMITHFIELD: Our signal in this area has changed to 98.7 FM. This is an expanded coverage area that now serves Clayton but also expanded to include better service for Smithfield and most of Johnston County. (The old 95.3 no longer carries HIS Radio programming)
--WAKE FOREST: Listeners in the Wake Forest area will now tune to 88.5 FM or 98.9 FM. (The old 95.3 no longer carries HIS Radio programming)
--RALEIGH: The 98.9 FM frequency which has served North Raleigh for many years has been expanded for an increase in coverage area! This channel now serves just about all of metro Raleigh with a listenable signal in your car in nearly all of the city, extending north toward Wake Forest, west toward Morrisville and east to Knightdale. --DURHAM: Our coverage in Durham and across Durham County has been greatly INCREASED. Hear us now in that area on 99.1 FM. This is a sizable enhancement for the Durham area so help us spread the word about this to your friends, church members, on Facebook, Twitter and other social media. --CHAPEL HILL: The coverage here has changed to 107.9 FM. Currently the coverage here is best heard in the north portions of Chapel Hill and in the direction of Hillsborough. This is a temporary status. Soon we will be increasing power here to serve a much broader area including all of Chapel Hill and much of Orange County
--EAST RALEIGH, KNIGHTDALE & WENDELL AREAS: Our local coverage in this area has switched to the 98.9 FM and 88.5 FM.
--Morrisville, Research Triangle Park, South Durham and the RDU Airport region: This area has been previously served by the 99.1 FM frequency. It is currently still served locally and can be heard temporarily on 99.3 FM.
