Hearts For Kids 2010
|
HIS Radio's "Hearts For Kids" is the annual outreach that touches kids who have to be in the hospital on Valentine's Day. We don't want them to be left out of the "fun" of the day, and we need your help. Please assemble your HFK Packets of creative, homemade Valentines Cards. Make it a family project, or something you do with your Sunday School group. Our deadline to receive the packets is Monday, Feb. 8th. Mail to, or drop off your packets at: HIS Radio 7610 Falls of Neuse Rd, Ste 155 Raleigh, NC 27615 Again this year, our Staff and Volunteer crews will distribute your HFK packets so that every sick kid in these hospitals receives a pleasant surprise: Wake Med, Rex Hospital, Duke Children's Hospital, UNC Children's Hospital, Pitt County Memorial in Greenville, Betsy Johnson Memorial in Dunn and Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. Here are some tips and requested guidelines as you're preparing your packets: --Wish the child a Happy Valentine's Day --Make your card cheerful, creative, and uplifting --Let the child know you are thinking of them --Tell the child you hope this helps put a smile on their face Because children will come from a wide variety of social backgrounds and medical histories, the hospitals have also requested the following consideration that you keep in mind: --No glitter or loose attachments --No references to "get well" or "hope you feel better" --No candy --No toys --Please don't include your personal contact information --No religious references or comments --No sealed envelopes --Please separate your cards in GENDER SPECIFIC groups (as might apply....boys/girls)
